Back in the day, I had to walk to school through 10 feet of snow, chop my own wood for heat and used Social Media.
What???
Okay, so I used John Atkinson‘s version of social media which he illustrated in this viral cartoon on his Wrong Hands site. I love this cartoon! It reminds me of a much simpler time… and then technology came along to make our lives easier!
Speaking of vintage social media, you might like to use (and learn how to create) the social media icons below from Tutorial 9’s website. You can use these icons in your personal and commercial projects. And if you prefer a more modern look, you can search this site to find plenty of cool looking icons as well.
Actually, I did walk to school in snow because I lived in Canada. It probably wasn’t 10 feet of snow, but to a little kid – it sure seemed liked it! 🙂

Hi Leslie! Times were simpler when we were kids weren’t they? Thanks for posting this Tutorial 9 resource. I’m curious, how do you use it? Thanks!
Yes, Michelle, times were simpler back then. However, I’m also glad to be a part of this fascinating journey with all the new technology available. So far I’ve just used icons from the Tutorial 9 site for client web pages.
Love the social media icons, thanks for sharing. Yes back in the day life was simpler but not hearly as expansive as the world of social nedia has made for us
Suzie, you are right – social media is great and has opened up a whole new world for us. If it wasn’t for Facebook, I wouldn’t be able to find and stay in touch with people from my simpler past.
Hope you feel Spring soon. There is great beauty in simplicity. We all would benefit from unplugging once in a while. Thanks for the post.
Thanks, Maria. Actually, I live in Florida so I’m not one of those unlucky people that are still freezing. In fact, I’ll probably be complaining about the heat soon – lol.
